They work for what they are, stepping stones to good reading. My three y/o reads them all well out loud with out using his finger. I started him on "Sight Word Readers" then "First Little Readers" pack "B". They seem so simple and redundant to me but after asking one of my older kid's teachers they said it was the right way to work on reading.

So I've attached a bunch of pics because when I purchased this there weren't that many showing the content. My daughter started reading basic words when she was 3 so I got set A for her (the red one) and she loved them. Now she is 4 and a half and reads pretty fluently for her age. I have been going to the library but these books are more systematic so I decided to get another batch. I didn't get 'B' because it seemed very similar to 'A' from the reviews so I went ahead and got 'C'. It's not really challenging for my little one, she read them all in one day and needed help with about 10 words in total. I could've gotten 'D' and it would be fine but this is a good stepping stone too so yeah I'm okay with it. I'll probably get 'D' in a week too since she loves them.

I'm so happy that I found these! My daughter is in kindergarten and I haven't been able to find books appropriate for her reading level. What I love most is the stories are cute and often funny! We've had them for a few weeks and every night she picks out 3 for us to read together. I will definitely buy more books like this!

My boy just finished Kindergarten and is just learning to read. He loved this set. There are lots of funny stories, they are just the right length and have colourful pictures. Some of the reviews I read before complained of the quality, but I think they are great, the covers are glossy, thick paper and the pages inside are full colour. You can see the stitches along the spine but I think that is fine. They will last for the next couple of years until he is done with them. I like that there are so many since we are travelling and they don't take up much space or weight. We have a similar Biscuit set of books and there are only 10 in the same size and weight of box (the quality of those is only a tiny bit better, a little thicker covers and paper).

I've also read the level A and B First Little Readers with my kids. They love these books. The books have a great progression of reading levels. They increase in complexity enough to gently challenge my kids, but not enough to discourage them. And, the stories are really cute and pictures are bright and colorful and help illustrate the harder words. I started this series with my kids when they turned 4. I will definitely continue with this series.

These are perfect for kindergarten readers. Easy words, short sentences, only a few pages, and bright pictures that help with the words.The only complaint is these are really thin. The paper and the covers are not very sturdy so these aren't for kids that won't be careful.Beware of the price. These are really only worth about fifty cents per book.

PERFECT FOR BY KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN!

I love these books to help my son learn to read. He’s 6 and this level has been the most “challenging” which is perfect. The pictures help but do not exactly match the words like in level A and B. So he actually has to focus more on the words. I really believe these books have helped reinforce reading at home. The stories are a little meh. It it’s only 8 pages and he can feel a sense of accomplishment after completing a book.

My daughter loves reading these in the car!!! It is building her confidence and she is making good progress with these. They are still and fun. She looks through the book, tells me what she thinks the story is about and then reads it. Great set of books! I have the D set too. I will introduce them once these because too easy.
