I really really want my money back...Ok, I'm going to get pedantic and picky here and I reserve that right because a) I've been a recording engineer for 30 plus years, b) I've been studying the Beatles all my life and had access to most of the same resources Mr Hammack used, and c) the only people who would EVER even potentially enjoy a book like this are pedantic, picky nerds like me.Mr Hammack is a very nice guy from all that I've seen.But this book is so full of factual errors and even self-contradictions it is maddening to read. Case in point: For the song "I Need You," in two of the three places it's covered he states that John was twiddling George's volume knob to achieve the volume swells. In the third place it's covered, he states George used a volume pedal. FYI, it was a volume pedal. If this seems picky to dear reader, with respect, reread the first paragraph.In other places there he claims there are instruments on the records that aren't, neglects instruments that are, and mis-assigns them to tracks they are not on, all of which is verifiable by a cursory listen to the common stereo CD's of the songs.On the good side, his listing of the equipment that was at their disposal is very, very good and as accurate as it can possibly be.Perhaps he just needs a better editor.

I'm a huge Beatles fan (since 2/9/64) and have the first edition of this series. Love both and will buy the third volume when available.

Jerry Hammack knocks it out of the park again with an amazingly researched book. This was a really interesting period for the Beatles and I learned a lot about how they grew as innovators in the studio.

Love these books. Every little bit of recording minutiae a Beatles freak like myself could ever want. Much of this info has appeared in other books before this one, but here, everything (dates, instruments, recording equipment, engineers, who played what, etc) is all in one place. Still, there’s some information here I’ve not seen anywhere else. Can’t wait for the next installment!

Great book with many detailed information.

Useful reference work for Beatles geeks, particularly the song-by-song format part of the book.Some sloppy sub-editing though, with typographical errors appearing.

Just an Awesome book. Very very well done. I cannot wait for the next ones to be released. I’m going to get everyone no doubt.
