This is the travel guide I've been waiting for to transport me to the Italian Riviera, imagining myself in La Dolce Vita or Two for the Road! What FUN!!Fabulous pictures and the breezy, conversational but very descriptive text puts you right there! Every cocktail recipe and each "nibble" recipeinspires me to try a different one everyday, but even better than that, I want to pack my book in my colorful bag and take off for the Italian Riviera right now! How cool-a guide/recipe/reference book that will have tons of dog-eared pages_AND it even has a MAP so you can see where you are going. I LOVE this book-and I wish there were an accompanying video! Try it for yourself… you will love it too.

A fantastic book, great drinks and snack ideas!

Annette Joseph’s latest book, Cocktail Italiano, is a vibrant journey through the Italian Riviera. Broken into chapters about each of the 11 seaside towns along Italy’s coast (and one major city, too), the book is a travel guide of sorts complete with what you need to know and where you need to go in each stop. In true Annette style, there’s witty commentary along with recipes for satiating “nibbles” (her word for light bites) and refreshing cocktails throughout. Not to mention, the chic and colorful cover perks up any bland bookshelf. Grab a few for hostess gifts for all of your summer soirees, and whatever you do, keep one for yourself. Who knows when the Riviera might call your name?

Annette has taken the best of the cocktail hour along the Italian Riviera and added it to her jam packed book! What I appreciated is that many of the cocktail recipes have simple ingredients, found at most larger liquor stores here in the States. I haven’t made any of the appetizers yet but we are just getting our farmer market season started where I live and I will use the freshed ingredients to try to recreate the taste better. Annette shares the stories behind these towns and you wish you were there!

Wow! What a pleasure this book turned out to be! The descriptions and photographs of the many stops along the Italian Riviera, along with the recipes for the cocktails and various “nibbles” included, provide a glimpse into a culture that some of us may never get to experience but can now enjoy vicariously! It is not only interesting reading, but the recipes are easy to follow and delightfully varied that there is something for everyone. Best book to use to plan a party or just for your family to enjoy your own “aperitivo” – but be careful, it could be habit forming!

What an amazing mash up of a book! Half cookbook, half intimate travel guide. It has all the best features of both. Split into regions, the book goes into detail on how to enjoy and immerse yourself in each individual location. Along with the travel tips and beautiful photography there are delicious recipes that seem as though you pulled the food or drink right off the bar in Italy.I can’t wait to pack this book and explore Italy like a natural, but until then, I will be able to recreate the experience in my own home! Well done!

Annette Joseph is the queen of entertaining and cocktail recipes, so I am very excited about this new book by her! The recipes are absolutely fab and, as always, the styling and photography is spot on — all while providing a glimpse into Italian entertaining.
